Rob Jones has been working professionally in the Pacific Northwest theater scene for over twenty years. He has musically directed and conducted many new works, most notably at Seattle Children's Theatre, Bathhouse Theatre, Empty Space, Crepe de Paris, Village Theatre and the Oregon Cabaret Theatre in Ashland. A tireless and gifted performer, Rob credits his father (whose piano standards were anything but standard) and one whimsical church organist/teacher (who amused Rob by sneaking TV theme songs and jingles into reflective interludes during church services) for instilling him with a passion for creating lively, entertaining music. Rob plays piano, guitar, mandolin and harmonica; he has also appeared in over a dozen roles in Seattle--his favorites being Oscar Madison in THE ODD COUPLE and Charlie Baker in THE FOREIGNER. Additionally, Rob has worked as a news and traffic reporter on Seattle's KOMO and KVI radio stations.

Rob's transition from actor to Music Director started with his outstanding accompaniment on SHE LOVES ME at the Burien Little Theatre. He first wrote songs for theater with British playwright Maggie Parkinson on a musical based on The Ghost of Canterville tale, and soon after wrote a song featured in a production of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL. Later, Rob worked four seasons with the innovative Oregon Cabaret Theatre's creative team, serving in many capacities on works including A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE and PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES; and collaborating with Artistic Director Jim Giancarlo on "Santaland," a holiday song and sketch for David Sedaris' SANTALAND DIARIES.
